Former Sergeant Byun Hee-soo, who was discharged from the military after undergoing a sex change operation, was found dead at home.

After one year of forced discharge from the military, the police are investigating the cause of the death of a sergeant Byeon.

Former Sergeant Byun Hee-soo was found dead in his home in Sangdang-gu, Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do.

It was discovered by 119 paramedics who received a report from the mental health center that Sergeant Byeon was not reachable.

The center reportedly reported that it was strange that Sergeant Byeon, who was a consultant, tried to make an extreme choice, and that news has been cut off since the 28th of last month.

The 119th paramedic was forced to open the door when there were no popular friends inside.

Police and fire departments estimate that it has been a few days since Sergeant Byeon died because he was postponed to be dead.

Sergeant Byeon, a member of an army unit in the northern part of Gyeonggi Province, returned from overseas after undergoing sex change surgery during his vacation in 2019 and was discharged in January of last year.

At that time, the Army conducted a mandatory investigation on changes in the body of the substation sergeant, made a decision of Level 3 mental and physical disability, and decided to discharge.

Sergeant Byeon filed a personnel appeal at the Army Headquarters in February last year asking for a re-examination, but the Army refused to accept it.

In response, Sergeant Byeon filed a lawsuit against the Chief of Staff of the Army in the Daejeon District Court, which is a court under the jurisdiction of Gyeryong University, in August last year, and the second division of the Daejeon District Law Administration was scheduled to hold his first defense on the 15th of next month.

The police ordered an autopsy to the National Institute of Scientific Investigation to determine the cause of Sergeant Byun’s death.
