[전국]’Chiri!’ on suspicious envelope… phone financial scammer gets caught by police on vacation

After witnessing a policeman on vacation being handed a suspicious paper bag, a voice phishing suspect was arrested with a fire check.

There was 10 million won in the envelope.

It was a typical telephone financial scam with low-interest government loans as bait.

Reporter Kim In-cheol covered it.

This is a CCTV screen taken on the road in front of an elementary school in Ulsan.

The man on the right is Sergeant Park Hyun-seok from the Ulju Police Station, the victim A is on the left, and the suspect B is in the middle.

Sergeant Park was standing in front of the school to leave the school on the 1st while on vacation, and saw Mr. A handing an envelope to Mr. B on the other side of the street.

Sergeant Park, who was suspicious of her, identified her identity and conducted a fire check, but the envelope contained 10 million won.

Mr. B excused that it was normal work, but he intuited that it was voice phishing on his cell phone.

Immediately after stopping Mr. B from running away, he requested the police station to be dispatched.

According to the police investigation, Mr. B was a typical telephone financial fraud organization’s collection of money by enticing him to get a low-interest loan with government subsidies by temporarily repaying his existing loan of 10 million won.

After seeing a job advertisement in the daily life information magazine, Mr. B confessed to all the crimes.

The policeman’s base, which actively responded to the crime scene in an unexpected place, was able to prevent the damage.
