The investigation into the suspicion of the early shutdown of the Wolseong nuclear power plant was disrupted by the court’s dismissal of an arrest warrant against former Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Baek Un-gyu.
As there were few investigations on the Blue House personnel at the time, which was still in the line of decision to shut down the nuclear power plant, the investigation is expected to focus on this part after the Lunar New Year holidays.

When the court dismissed the arrest warrant of former Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Baek Un-gyu, the prosecution is perplexed.
The plan to arrest the key person in the case, former Minister Baek, and rein the nuclear power plant investigation was disrupted.
He suffered more fatal injuries than the court’s reasons for dismissing the warrant.
Prosecutors have argued that Baek, as Minister of Industry, abused his ex officio to make Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power and its officials do no obligations and interfered with Wolsong Unit 1 related work.
However, the court judged that it was insufficient to say that only the data submitted so far have been sufficiently clarified for the alleged crime of Baek.
They saw that there was not enough evidence to support the prosecution’s claim that former Minister Baek had committed a crime.
Therefore, he explained that there is room for controversy over criminal charges, and that the warrant has been dismissed to exercise defense rights in the disabled state.
Although it is difficult to understand the reason for the dismissal, the prosecution indicated the possibility of reclaiming the arrest warrant for the former Minister Baek by saying that it would do more thorough investigations of the people involved.
However, it remains to be seen whether to find evidence to persuade the court beyond the data obtained in the last four months.
In addition, it seems difficult to add reasons for arrest, as the court said that it was difficult to determine the fear of destroying evidence, saying that the main reference person was arrested and related statements were secured.
The investigation into the Blue House-related personnel, which is expected to be the next step, must also be approached more carefully.
