[앵커]

Tomorrow is World Water Day.

Ahead of the Water Day, a large-scale cleaning was carried out in the area of Mangyeong River in Jeollabuk-do, a habitat for migratory birds.

Reporter Oh Jeom-gon covered it.

Mangyeong River flows through Saemangeum Lake to the West Sea.

The vast reeds and silver grass colony are spectacular, and they are the feeding line of the Mangyeong field in Gimje and the home of migratory birds.

In addition, this winter, dozens of storks, both a natural monument and a rare species worldwide, come to visit, making it an essential habitat for wild animals.

The wind is still a little cold. It is a region in the upper reaches of the Mangyeong River, where the spring energy is full.

However, as you can see, traces of heavy rain last summer are still everywhere.

In addition, garbage left by fishermen and campers is scattered throughout.

The so-called Mangyeong River clean-up event to remove these environmental pollutants was held one day ahead of the Water Day.

I couldn’t clean up with dozens of people and hours of activity, but I also hoped that these small efforts would spread all over the country.

A time to realize the precious value that not only drinking water directly consumed by humans, but also water consumed by nature and animals are more important.

The theme of this year’s World Water Day is’Value of Water, Value of the Future’.
