Dongmyeon, Chuncheon, Gangwon-do,
There is a large tomb at the foot of the mountain, commonly referred to as Myeongdang.
And there is an old hanok that manages the tomb.
This is the house of Min Sung-gi, Cultural Property No. 66, Gangwon-do.
![[와이파일] Pro-Japanese tomb management of'heung-cheong-man-cheong'... 400 million won in blood tax for house repair](https://i0.wp.com/image.ytn.co.kr/general/jpg/2021/0307/202103070800015509_img_00.jpg?w=560&ssl=1)
Built in the late Joseon Dynasty, this hanok was designated as a cultural property in 1985 because of its preservation value. Yes. It is an old hanok that is seldom seen. Gangwon-do has kindly installed guides for the cultural properties. However, nowhere is it stated whose tomb was built to manage the house designated as a cultural property.
The owner of the tomb is Min Young-hui.
It is a representative pro-general actor. You can find out numerous pro-Japanese activities just by searching for the famous pro-Japanese para name. In particular, with the power gained through pro-Japanese, the current city has raised a fortune worth 800 billion won. These pro-Japanese tombs are located in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do.
Suddenly, is it about the pro-Japanese Min Yeong-hui? no. This is the story of Min Seong-gi’s house, which was designated as a cultural property that manages this tomb. I also wrote an article in 2017.

It is the core pledge of the Moon Jae-in administration.
Among them, pro-Japanese redemption is also included.
However, the house that manages the representative pro-Japanese tombs has been registered as a local cultural property and has been managed for decades, causing controversy.

A traditional house in Chuncheon, designated as Gangwon-do Cultural Property No. 66.
It preserves the typical houses of the central region of the late Joseon Dynasty.
A notice has been installed stating that the cultural property in the back is a house built to manage the tomb.
However, it is not stated whose tomb was built to manage the house.
The owner of the tomb is Min Young-hui, a representative pro-Japanese class.
In exchange for taking the lead in the invasion of national power, he received the title of his own work from Japan.
With the power gained through pro-Japanese power, the current city has raised a fortune worth 800 billion won.
However, this fact doesn’t appear anywhere.

“I have no choice but to know. Because I didn’t explain it together. It was a little difficult to reveal something, so I couldn’t reveal it, and I thought it was only highlighting the style of this house.”
The same is true of Gangwon-do, which registered cultural properties, and Chuncheon-si, which manages them.
[인터뷰: 춘천시 관계자]
“Because it’s an old house, I know it was designated with the meaning of the house when it was designated as a (cultural property) at the time. (Do you know who the tomb owner is?) Wait a minute….”
The registration of cultural assets related to the pro-Japanese group has been controversial before.
In 2013, when the Cultural Heritage Administration tried to raise the military uniform of General Paik Seon-yup as a cultural property, it was destroyed due to a backlash from an anti-Japanese independence activist group.
This was because pro-Japanese goods should not be registered as cultural assets representing the historical values of the nation.

▲ Interview with Park Han-yong, Director of the Institute for Ethnic Studies
A house that has been managed as a cultural property for over 30 years.
Citizens who cannot know the hidden history of pro-Japanese are continuing today.

▶Cultural property designation cannot be canceled… What are the records related to pro-Japanese?
After the report, an anti-Japanese activist group requested Gangwon-do to cancel the designation of a cultural property. However, it is possible to cancel the designation of the house that is privately owned by the owner. In addition, if the value as a cultural property is lost or damaged, it can be terminated. It is virtually impossible to be designated as a cultural property. This is because, when designated as a cultural property, local governments invest in budget and effort to maintain and repair.
Apart from being the Min Yeong-hui tomb management house, the house itself is a hanok that is over 100 years old. The building value is recognized. So, we want to keep what we have designated as cultural assets, but also record the history of pro-Japanese. Park Han-yong, head of the Institute for National Studies, who responded to the interview four years ago, also emphasized this point.

▲ Guide to Min Sung-ki’s House, Cultural Property No. 66, Gangwon-do
However, the instructions explaining the cultural property are still intact. There is no explanation for the house whose grave is to be managed. It’s simply an old house, just how many rooms and how the house is structured.
However, the Cultural Heritage Administration’s National Heritage Portal says that it was built to manage Min Young-hui’s mausoleum.
I have a one-line explanation.
▶ ‘440 million won’ tax used to repair Min Seong-gi’s house
Would it be difficult to edit the announcement?
I made an inquiry to Chuncheon City. They say that the designation of cultural properties is the authority of the Gangwon-do Cultural Properties Deliberation Committee and should be discussed by the committee. I contacted Gangwon-do. Chuncheon City manages it, so I was asked to inquire about Chuncheon City.
The person in charge changed, and I was surprised how it was the same as when I first wrote and interviewed the article 4 years ago.
Maybe it’s because it’s wasteful to put a new sign on the pro-Japanese tomb management house by paying taxes? I also thought of it. It wasn’t. Since the designation of a cultural property, we have requested the disclosure of information on the amount of tax paid to Min Sung-ki’s house.
[민성기 가옥 보수 비용]
1992-KRW 40,557,000 Emergency relief repair for Anchae and Sarangchae (Haengrangchae part)
1996-KRW 60,600,000 The main house and Sarangchae were dismantled and repaired by replacing the corrosive materials and repairing the roof.
1999-92,180,000 won Main building base and wall plastering, window repair, front door and Korean soil wall, stonework, etc.
2003-65,960,000 won Restroom renovation, existing stonework and earth wall repair, basement, floor, and roof partial repair of the main house
2013-KRW 125,919,580 Dismantling more than softwoods in the main house and Sarangchae, replacing corrosive materials, and repairing the roof
2020-55,482,000 won Fence dismantling and repair incurred sectional loss
As little as 40 million won and as many as 120 million won, tax 440 million won was incurred as maintenance expenses in all six times. I don’t really understand why it doesn’t work to add an explanation of the house that manages the tomb of Min Young-hui, the pro-Japanese group, while spending over 400 million dollars in maintenance expenses.

▲ The tomb of Min Yeong-hui of the pro-Japanese family guarded by Min Seong-gi’s house
In fact, this article was planned to be broadcast in verse 3/1. But I couldn’t. In Gangwon-do, the last 3/1 heavy snow fell. Until the next day, I was buried in heavy snow and did not have time to report. I thought I had to wait until the Liberation Day in August.
Related articles pouring out every anniversary.
Most media outlets think of timeliness and publish articles on that anniversary. It was the same for me. But I don’t think so anymore. There is no need for timeliness in liquidating pro-Japanese abuse. I plan to write and write at least until a line is added to the signboard saying that the cultural property is related to pro-Japanese greetings.
“There is no future for a nation that has forgotten its history.”
I will not commit any more luck that I remember only for anniversaries and usually forget them.
