The property of Supreme Court Chief Kim Myung-soo was 1.17 billion won, and Constitutional Court Chief Yoo Nam-seok was 3.12 billion won. The average fortune of 144 high-ranking judges exceeded 3.7 billion won.

According to the’regular property changes of 144 senior judges in 2021,’ released by the Supreme Court on the 24th, the average wealth of 144 senior judges was 3.76 billion won.

Among them, 59 people increased their wealth by more than 100 million won from the previous year, and 12 people decreased by more than 100 million won. Excluding the valuation, the average increase in net assets was 172 million won.

Chief Justice Kim’s fortune was 1,178 million won, a decrease of 222 million won from the previous year. The main reason was that the eldest son, who reported property worth 390 million won last year, refused to disclose the property this year. The increase in salary savings was 13 million won, and the increase in debt of financial institutions was 430 million won.

Incheon District Court Chief Kang Young-soo’s property was 498.97 billion won, the largest among high-ranking judges subject to disclosure. As the valuation method of unlisted stocks was changed from face value to actual transaction price, the amount of assets increased by about 40 billion won.

Elder Judge Kim Dong-oh of the Uijeongbu District Court (2,362 billion won) was the second most wealthy, followed by Senior Judge Yoon Seung-eun of Seoul High Court (1,752 billion won).
