[자막뉴스] Now in Myanmar… the infamous 33, 77, 101 light troop division is put into operation

Amnesty said it analyzed 55 videos filmed by citizens and local media in various places in Myanmar, including the largest cities of Yangon and Dawei, from the 28th to the 8th of last month.

In a video shot in Yangon City, police officers drag a man and suddenly shoot him.

At the time, this man was not even resistant.

The man who was shot fell directly onto the ground, and the police even kicked the man.

A screen shot by a citizen secretly from a balcony inside the house shows police shooting at protesters.

After watching the filming, you can hear the sound of a single gun shot by the police at the photographer.

In a video filmed on the 28th of last month in South Dawei, a soldier handed a rifle to a police officer next to him to try it out.

The police squat and shoot at the target, and the surrounding policemen scream and run away.

Videos filmed in the Mingyan area show the police reloading and shooting the Uji machine gun, a war weapon.

The sound of machine guns, a combat weapon, is clearly audible around the protesters.

Amnesty’s analysis also confirmed that the 33rd, 77th and 101th Light Corps Division, which was notorious for the massacre of ethnic minorities including the Rohingya, has been put into action to suppress the protests.

Amnesty lamented that no scenes of brutal killings had ever been aired for the world to see.

Amnesty urged the UN Security Council and the international community to go beyond expressing concerns and act promptly to stop violence and hold perpetrators accountable.
