[자막뉴스] Captured in 7 minutes of fear…the sound of Martian wind’first revealed’

Something faint is heard through the mechanical sounds.

When the mechanical sound is removed, it’s like a flag fluttering.

The sound of Martian wind.

Exploration Rover Perservance, who landed on Mars on the 18th, recorded two microphones and sent them to Earth.

Mars is thin, but because there is an atmosphere, there are weather phenomena and wind blows.

The sound of the wind passing through the desolate land where light penetrates, is mysterious and wonderful.

Perseverance also sent live footage of the landing.

I opened a parachute from 11.2 km in the air, turned on about 20 cameras, and took pictures of the red and fine surface that can be seen every time I come down with shaking.

After a while, the screen was covered with dirt and dust from the strong wind.

Landing was successful.

What was revealed this time is part of a process called ‘7 minutes of horror’ because of the most demanding and high risk from entering the Martian atmosphere to descent and landing.

Perseverance was launched on July 30 last year and settled on Mars after 7 months with a camera that can take a high-resolution 3D panoramic image of Mars’ surface and a super cam that can chemically analyze the material.

And over the next two years, you’ll be tasked with finding traces of life on Mars billions of years ago, including collecting Martian soil and rocks.
