It is a region of Nanda Devi National Park in the Himalayas, Uttarakhand Province, India.

Suddenly there was a massive avalanche.

The avalanche drove huge glaciers and hit the valley like a’tsunami’ along the coast.

There was a dam, but it didn’t stop the rapids.

In an instant, thousands of people were swept away by the rapids.

Rescue authorities estimate that more than 200 people are missing.

Workers at two hydroelectric power plant construction sites and residents of nearby villages were transformed.

The Indian military and police disaster response team is dispatched to the disaster site and is working hard to search for and rescue the missing persons.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted that he is praying for the safety of the missing people and promised to do his best in rescue and relief efforts.

In the Indian state of Uttarakhand, record heavy rains poured out in June 2013, causing landslides and floods called the Himalayan Tsunami, which resulted in a tragic accident that killed nearly 6,000 people.
