[인터뷰] The mini-album 《NOIR》, music video, and movie by Yunho Yunho ②

“The story of a man who did his best without regret” ends with a back view. Like the protagonist of a noir movie who has finished his work, he goes toward the tomorrow he will face again. The second solo mini-album 《NOIR》 (hereinafter referred to as 《Noir》) released by Yunho Yunho on January 18th is a word and title song that implies the planning intention. (Below <땡큐>) Took the genre expressed with the whole body as the name. The music video of 7 minutes and 38 seconds in which actors Hwang Jung-min and Lee Jung-hyun appeared together with Yunho Yunho contains the essence. A story leading to a revenge blood battle at the end of the consultation <킬 빌> <짝패> <신세계> This music video, which reminds me of mise-en-scene on the back, is a memorandum reminiscent of the steps of Jung Yun-ho in video, and a musical reinterpretation of the Asian noir films he admired.

<씨네21>That’s why I found this Yunho. He borrows a movie to tell his story and approaches the album “as if making a movie music”, and sees another way to meet the movie and discover a new self. During the interview, he made a direct action to explain how the scenes of the music video were completed, and also showed numerous photo and video references stored on the mobile phone. As I watched the endless scrolls spreading through the chat window and the photo album, I was able to get a glimpse of the sincerity he put into 《Noir》.

To look back on your own noir

–<땡큐>Starting with’Noir’, he gave each genre character to other songs, and made music films and track posters. SF, Comedy, Of the drama, <불면(不眠; La Rosa)>All of the romances were exquisite. What is your favorite movie genre originally?

=There is no genre to cover. I really like adventure stuff. In fact, I like everything except fear.

-Last year <나 혼자 산다>When I appeared in, I was washing the laundry at home <컨저링2>Didn’t you see

= I was so scared then. by the way <컨저링2>see <컨저링>This was more scary. <컨저링2>Is openly surprised, <컨저링>Doesn’t pop out suddenly. I don’t watch horror movies by myself, but I watched it once as a challenge.

-It’s also a’challenge’. (laugh)

=But watching a horror movie relieves your stress. (Laughter) What I like is the emotional story of a real person. <블라인드 사이드>I really liked the story, but I really like the story that the character does something like that. Because it gives me the courage to do it too. And they often have DiCaprio’s Day, Tom Cruise’s Day, and Brad Pitt’s Day. For example, on DiCaprio’s day, <로미오와 줄리엣> <디파티드> <인셉션> <장고: 분노의 추적자> I’m looking at his appearances. If you focus on how the actor has changed and what characters he creates his own genre, the movie is more relevant.

-As a life movie <포레스트 검프>Also mentioned.

= I like it because it reminds me of the beginning and I watched it a lot. But the most shocked, most intensely life movie in my head <인셉션>to be. Isn’t it an open-ended movie that can touch even the unconscious? I like the open ending. <땡큐> The follow-up song There is such a point in the music video. It’s a song about the psychology that men and women are pushed against, but I also wanted to show reality and fantasy in a separate image.

-Personally, among the songs The music video was very good. Yunho Yoo’s figure passing through the fireworks and hourglass while riding in a car and passing through the animation and the live-action matched with the lyrics, so it seems that’You’ in the song soon felt like’I’. Perhaps it was more impressive because the aspects and lyrics that I showed outside of my music activities (‘Your every minute and one second is always only once’,’I don’t know the future, so focus on now’) matched well.

=This is the first song I worked on on this album. Aha I got a lot of inspiration from the music video, and the artist mareykrap made the illustration so well. It’s a fantastic and pretty video, but there is another message in it. (Laughter) There are a lot of images of me in a classic car this time, including the music video for this song, and I used to think that way. In a way, people in Nara exist innocent and unspoiltly, but because they are celebrities, they go around in fantasy while being illuminated. Since the fantasy that I belong to may be a target for someone, I will walk silently again, but I have always thought that I must find the real me while keeping my self-esteem in it. It seems that he also acted in a music video by projecting that feeling.

-I think you might have imagined the moment when you act again in a drama or movie.

= Thankfully, it is an entertainment program or a drama starring a close friend Ho-Jun Son. <고백부부>After seeing a cameo appearance on, there were some people who made some suggestions. It seemed that I saw the charm in a slightly relaxed appearance. Even now, he is reviewing the script while looking at various situations. I am also looking forward to seeing what kind of Yunho Yunho I can approach again with acting. Rather than thinking too impatiently, the viewers say’Is it okay to play Yunho Yunho?’ I want to greet you with a good work so that you can do it. After talking about acting, I want to say that (Hwang) Jung-min is really grateful to my brother. <땡큐> As I filmed the music video together, I felt that I was a really cool actor. Even during rehearsals, I was completely in love with the passion and the way I kept practicing alone and trying to bring out the details.

-I have been saying that I received a lot of energy from actor Hwang Jung-min, but in fact, the young people of today, especially those who are preparing for employment and those who are new to society, get a lot of strength from Yunho’s passionate appearance. Even more so, perhaps because of seeing its footsteps while living in the contemporary era. On the one hand, I always wanted to ask the public how the impression of being engraved as an icon of passion and effort is.

=When people call me with words like passion man or passion king, there are times when I become conscious of my actions and methods without even knowing. However, it seemed to me whether I would take this as a burden or interpret it as a sense of responsibility.

-Entertainment program <시간을 사는 사람들-어바웃 타임>(Below <어바웃 타임>When appearing in ), there is a “different sense of what the character has been decided on”, but it was impressive that he said that he was okay because he is not acting as a character, but because he is such a person.

=Of course, I was happy to see you well. But it took some time to accept it. However, I was encouraged to have a good influence on someone, and I also thought I wasn’t just a singer. Also, can I make a mistake someday? It seems that the current image is a good control device for such mistakes. Now I’m starting to think good. When problems or hardships come, there is always an opportunity to solve them. I can choose how to approach the opportunity.

-What is clear is that such an appearance is an inspiration for contemporary youth. <어바웃 타임>As it was to the military seniors and unknown junior entertainers who came to spend time with Yunho Yunho in. I wanted to say that I can feel proud of it.

=It’s embarrassing to say with my mouth, but I seem to like the pure side of passion. (Laughter) Of course I have passion, but I don’t force it on anyone else. Each has his own passion and his own style, so respect him.

-How would you like this album, Noir, to reach those who need the energy of Yunho Yunho?

=Everyone dreams of becoming the main character in the movie. After listening to this album, I think that the person named Yunho Yunho is this kind of person, and it would be nice if I could look back on his own movie, his own noir. If that happens, I will be satisfied. You are the main character in your own movie!

“I smoked in the first scene of the music video because I wanted to escape the image of a schoolboy. I want to be an’adventure student’ rather than a schoolboy. I am protected as a celebrity, but I wanted to express that I already had some wounds.”

“Hwang Jung-min’s role as the boss, the boss of the organization, seems gentle on the outside, but he is a person who does scary things behind the scenes. Even though I was kind, I wanted to make it a character with a dagger in a single word, but Jung Min senior <달콤한 인생>and <신세계>We talked about how we would mix the characters played in half and half and made a music video story. I tried metaphorizing the character’s greed with appetite.”

<조커>‘Dance of Self-esteem’

“During the choreography, there is a motion where you hit your chest with your fists, raise your head, and look as if you are the best. This is a movie <조커>Inspired by what the Joker of And actually I do this a lot. When you’re having a hard time hitting your chest with your fist and saying,’Yoonho, let’s go!’ I said a little bit of fighting (laughs), but I melted that into the choreography.”
