[이 시각 투표소] 4·7 re-election day of choice… “Please bring your ID card and mask”

On Wednesday, April 7, the morning of the day of choice was bright. Today (7th) is the day to select the mayors of Seoul and Busan. Voting started at 6 o’clock a little earlier. Today’s re-election voting is only available at designated polling places. Please check the location of the polling place and take a mask and ID card, so be sure to exercise a precious vote. There is reporter Jeong Ban-seok at the polling place, and I will connect to the site.

Reporter Jung, how is the atmosphere on the site?

I am now at the Mokdong Youth Center polling place.

Voting started a while ago, but as it is still early, citizens who visited the polling place are continuing to visit from time to time.

You have to take a temperature measurement in front of the polling place here, and if there is no abnormality, you will go inside the polling place with plastic gloves after disinfecting your hands.

When you present your photo ID, such as a driver’s license and passport, and receive your ballot, you can go to the voting booth and stamp the candidate you want.

Unlike pre-voting, today’s voting requires you to go to a designated polling place and is held until 8 pm.

The location of the polling place can be found on the notice sent home or on the Internet homepage of the Central Election Commission.

The nationwide pre-voting rate, which took place on the 2nd and 3rd, was 20.54%, the highest among the re-elections ever.

In particular, Seoul’s pre-voting rate rose by 3%p from the local elections three years ago, showing high interest in the Seoul Mayor’s election.

According to this trend, there are also observations that the final turnout may exceed the 50% level.

Although there are variables depending on the gap between candidates, the election committee predicts that the outline of the winners will be revealed by midnight as early as midnight, and the counting will be completed by 3 am tomorrow.
