Korea Gas Corporation President Chae Hee-bong, who took office in July 2019 and passed the turning point of his three-year term, said in his New Year’s address on the 4th, “2021 will be a new starting point for KOGAS to become a 100-year company.”

CEO Chae said that last year, despite the unprecedented crisis of Corona 19, KOGAS achieved achievements such as expanding the natural gas supply chain, establishing individual tariff plans, promoting new businesses such as hydrogen and LNG bunkering, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

In addition, he emphasized that KOGAS should lay the foundation for growth as a key company in the future as global market trends are expected to change rapidly this year due to eco-friendly energy conversion and carbon neutrality declarations by countries around the world.

Accordingly, Chairman Chae is the five core tasks of KOGAS this year. It suggested the realization of social values.

In the hydrogen business field, which KOGAS is working on the most, the biggest challenge is how to secure the economics of hydrogen production and supply.

President Chae plans to make bold investments this year, including the establishment of the hydrogen business headquarters and the construction of a hydrogen and LNG convergence charging station.

President Chae said, “We will soon announce the’KOGAS Vision 2030′ covering these plans. All employees will share a new vision and work together to provide better value to the people and shareholders.”

Meanwhile, the Korea Gas Corporation, established in 1983 under the Korea Gas Corporation Act, is a public corporation that imports LNG from overseas natural gas production sites and supplies it to the domestic market.
