While innocent citizens are being sacrificed by Myanmar’s military’s indiscriminate shootings, Myanmar citizens reinforced their will to resist by writing various anti-military messages and pictures on Easter eggs on the 4th of the past. Myanmar is a Buddhist country where about 90% of the population is Buddhist, but a proposal to unite each other through Easter and strengthen the will to resist the military was posted through social media.

According to local media such as Reuters and social media, citizens wrote down their resistance to the military and their willingness to restore democracy in the Easter egg shell on this day, then shared it with their neighbors and posted a number on social media. On Twitter, etc., there were many eggs with the words’Save Myanmar’ along with the Myanmar flag. There was also an egg that was written as’our legitimate government’ under the image of the’Federal Assembly Representative Committee’ (CRPH), a provisional government of the democratic camp. The figure depicting a peacekeeper wearing a helmet marked’UN’ and calling for the UN’s intervention in the Myanmar crisis also drew attention.

Citizens also wrote that “three-finger salute,” a symbol of resistance, or “Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM)” and “Democracy”, which are key stems of the anti-coup movement. Similarly, there were a lot of words that made up the mindset such as’We Must Win’ and’Never Back Again Till The End’.

“Easter is a day for the future. Myanmar citizens will have a great future in federal democracy,” said the UN special envoy Jasa, a spokesman for the international community of CRPH. “I hope that Easter will bring new hope and strength to the integrated government of Myanmar.”

Meanwhile, street protests against the coup took place in Yangon, Karen, and the central Sagaing area. According to the Myanmar Human Rights Organization Political Offender Support Association (AAPP), as of the previous day, 557 citizens were confirmed to have died in military and police violence such as shootings.

However, there are many cases in which life or death was not confirmed after the military police abandoned the body or disappeared.
