[안혜리의 시선] Nam In-soon and the K-feminist monster

It wasn’t surprising when the prosecution on the 30th of last month appointed Rep. Nam In-soon, the “mother of the women’s movement,” who is the chairman of the Democratic Party’s Gender Violence Countermeasures TF together with the late Mayor Park Won-soon’s “sexual harassment accusation leak”. I just thought the guess was correct. There was something surprising. From the Kim Dae-jung administration to the Roh Moo-hyun and Moon Jae-in regimes, the Korean Federation of Women’s Organizations (Yeo-yeon), who had been taking the positions of women’s proportional representatives and ministers of women’s ministers, announced the results of the investigation and, at the same time, announced the results of the investigation, against standing representative Yeo-yeon Kim. It is true that the decision to exclude the job was made. In the light of the Yoon Mi-hyang case and the way Yeo-yeon has shown me to take care of my side so far, I thought I would criticize the prosecution or the media and deny the facts, or at least choose silence, but the response was too fast.

As it turned out, it wasn’t early, but it was too late. From July of last year, when the incident first took place, in the women’s world, from Representative Kim Young-soon (who served as Yeo Yeon) to Nam, Soon-young Lim, who was an aide to Congressman Nam, Seoul Gender Special Report, and the approximate spillage route leading to Mayor Park. He demanded discipline, but remained silent until the prosecution announced. Amid Yeo-yeon’s support, Congressman Nam showed his talent to the full. At the time of the Yoon Mi-hyang incident, Lee Yong-soo, a comfort woman victim, raised the question of the misappropriation of funds as “a victim and activist division strategy of pro-Japanese forces”. Induced harm.

It is not only Kim and Representative Nam. Other female lawmakers of the Democratic Party, who claimed it was for women, or who were given preferential treatment (nominated bonus points) for being women, showed no regret as a member of a community of interests who turned away from victims based on political gains and losses. National Assembly Vice Chairman Kim Sang-hee, former Minister of Leisure and Family Affairs Jin Seon-mi, and Rep. Yang Hyang-ja, who was the highest member of the women’s council, actively defended Nam’s claim of “the victim of the victim” in a group chat room of female members of the Democratic Party immediately after the incident occurred. He played an accomplice in riding. Even Rep. Goh Kohn Jung-jung saw the meeting of former Mayor Park ceremony without even acknowledging the facts of sexual harassment that were clearly revealed. When it is worth using it politically, it is a victim-centered canal, and then standing on the side of the power and “trampling the person who asked for help” (Jeong Eui-dang).

It can’t be a K-feminist-like behavior. If it is a true feminist who speaks out for the protection of women’s rights and human rights and sometimes suffers penalties in this process, K feminists pretend to be for women only until they gain power. They have been in power and have rather oppressed women. Rep. Nam’s behavior clearly shows this. After joining Yeoyeon to represent women workers and stepping up to the top, he entered the core of the power by building careers and personal connections, not only in organizations that make women’s policy decisions, but also on various committees of government ministries. It can be said that it is a developmental successor. He was a graduate of the Korean Literature Department at Sudo Normal University, and his career was all about women’s labor-related civic groups, but just as many women’s seniors who had collusion with power did so, he entered the National Assembly with the footsteps of the KBS Director, Supreme Court Suspension Committee, and the Ministry of Education and Science, the Law and Education Committee, and became the third-tier lawmaker. Then, he said he used the powerful political influence of the third line to trample on victims and betray women activists who help victims.

Rep. Nam’s K-feminist behavior is even more problematic because it does not stop with his wrongdoing, but because it is continuously expanded and reproduced. In this context, CEO Kim Young-soon’s wrong choice, who was excluded from his job by the organization he was the representative of, must be seen in this context. Representative Kim was walking the flower path to power that Congressman Nam walked. Until the end of December last year, just before the prosecution’s announcement of the leak, he made a step at the core of power as a member of the sentencing committee, the Gender Equality Committee under the Prime Minister’s Office, a non-executive director of the Korean Women’s Human Rights Promotion Agency, and a member of the Seoul Gender Equality Committee. I was on my way. Therefore, there cannot be a victim who asks for help. This is the reason why he chose to be with the perpetrator because he was blinded by political interests, as the criticism Daejabo put in front of Yeo Yeon.

How long should I give all kinds of political stakes and benefits in the name of women to these impure women who only desire power? If it’s for such a woman, it’s better not to have it.
