We will create a’resource recycling carbon neutral city

New Year (辛丑年) The new year has dawned. May 2021 be filled with energetic energy.

It seems that this year’s global keyword will be’carbon neutral’. It is clear that the transition to a low-carbon society is indispensable for us in the turmoil of the climate crisis. Accordingly, the government also announced plans for the ‘2050 Carbon Neutral Strategy’ and the’Korean Version New Deal’ and is preparing a strategy to reorganize energy centered on renewable energy and innovate the entire industry. The realization of carbon neutrality in Korea, which is dominated by industries that consume a lot of energy, such as manufacturing, may be a crisis, but I think it could be another opportunity if preemptive responses are supported.

The Korea Energy Agency is also planning to actively respond to changes in the energy ecosystem by focusing on two topics, the ‘2050 Carbon Neutral Promotion Strategy’ and the’Korean Version New Deal’ announced by the government. A’carbon-neutral’ society does not consist of innovation. Accordingly, with the goal of’building a carbon-neutral city with resource recycling’, we will promote energy efficiency improvement and new renewable energy expansion projects in the areas of industry and life, which are KEA’s own business areas. In addition, we will create a representative business model centered on regional decentralization by breaking away from the promotion of centralized policies, and build a’KEA Eco Ecosystem’ in which the corporation, experts, and the government cooperate by reinforcing networks with local governments as well as related organizations.

Our step by step can feel heavy and slow to reverse climate change, which is already rapidly progressing. However, like the word Ubocheonri (牛步千里), a carbon-neutral society will not be a far future if we receive the energy of the year of the cow in 2021 and steadily prepare to go to a low-carbon society at each location based on the sympathy of all the people .
