The Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games, which will open in July, will be held without foreign audiences.

The Japanese government, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and the Olympic Organizing Committee have held video conferences with the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee to finalize this policy.

This decision was made to alleviate the Japanese people’s anxiety about hosting the Tokyo Olympics as the world’s corona19 situation is still severe and mutant virus spreads.

The Japanese government reported that it was virtually impossible to thoroughly implement infection countermeasures while managing the behavior of many entrants here.

According to this, the organizer of the competition will proceed with a process of refunding about 900,000 tickets sold abroad.

In principle, it was decided not to accept volunteers living abroad as well as the audience.

Regarding the issue of accommodating the stadium by spectators in Japan, it was decided to set a specific scale for the next month.

It is known that the current Japanese government is considering a plan to limit the maximum number of visitors to 50% of the capacity to accommodate domestic sports events.
