Choo Shin-soo, who played for Texas until last year, can be seen playing in the domestic professional baseball this season.

Shinsegae Group officially announced that it has signed an annual salary of 2.7 billion won with Choo Shin-soo, a free agent.

The annual salary of 2.7 billion won exceeds Lotte Lee Dae-ho’s highest annual salary of 2.5 billion won, of which 1 billion won was decided to be used for social contribution activities.

Shinsegae Group has been pursuing the recruitment right after the decision to take over the baseball team, but the active courtship of the club moved Choo Shin-soo’s heart.

Shin-soo Choo said, “Recently, 7~8 teams in the major leagues have offered good conditions, but Shinsegae Group’s direction, desperateness, and devotion have been a great help in the decision to return to Korea.”

After signing with Seattle in 2001, Shin-soo Choo, who went through Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Texas for 16 years starting from 2005, has a career batting average of 27%, 218 home runs, and 782 RBIs.

Choo Shin-soo also holds the record for the most home runs and most RBIs for Asian players.

This year, the Korean age has turned into an uncomfortable age, but with the introduction of Chu, the new team, Shinsegae, can strengthen the left-handed hitter line in batting order.

Shin-soo Choo plans to return to Korea and self-isolate for two weeks before joining the squad during winter training.
