On the 25th, the Special Prosecutors’ Team Park Young-soo, who investigated the case of Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong’s Gukjeong Nongdan case, gave up reappraisal of the ruling on the remand court decision on the 25th. As a result, Vice-Chairman Lee was finalized in a two-year and six-month revocation decision. Earlier, Vice-Chairman Lee also expressed his intention to give up his re-appeal.

The special prosecutor said through a press release on the day, “The ruling of the’Equestrian and Gifted Center Support Bribery Case’ sentenced by the 1st Criminal Division of the Seoul High Court on January 18 was based on the purpose of the decision of the Supreme Court, and decided not to appeal again.” Said.

He added, “It is light in the light of the criminal facts and sentencing standards in which the imprisonment was recognized, but it does not correspond to the illegal reasons that can be used as reasons for appeal,” he added.

Vice-Chairman Lee was arrested on charges of bribing former President Park Geun-hye and Choi Seo-won (previously renamed Choi Soon-sil) to the side of former President Park Geun-hye and Choi Seo-won (previously renamed Choi Soon-sil), asking for help in the succession of the Samsung Group’s management rights. The special prosecutor saw that Vice-Chairman Lee offered 29.8 billion won as a bribe and promised to hand 21.3 billion won.

The first trial court recognized Vice-Chairman Lee’s bribe of 8.9 billion won and sentenced him to five years in prison. At the appeal trial, Vice-Chairman Lee’s guilty amount decreased to 3.6 billion won, and he was released after being sentenced to four years probation after two years and six months in prison in February 2018.

However, in October 2019, the entire consensus of the Supreme Court broke the judgment and returned it to the Seoul High Court, saying that about 5 billion won was recognized as guilty by the appeal trial in October 2019. On the 18th, as the Supreme Court judged, the Tribunal for the revocation of revocation was convicted of a total of 8.6 billion won and sentenced to two years and six months in prison. Vice-chairman Lee, who was released on probation in an appeal before remand and remanded, was sentenced to imprisonment.

Earlier, attorney Lee In-jae, an attorney on Lee’s side, said, “Vice-chairman Lee humbly accepted this ruling and decided not to reappeal.” As both sides gave up re-appeal, Vice-Chairman Lee was imprisoned for one year and six months, minus one year he had already served.
