Former group Big Bang member Seung-ri (real name Seung-Hyun Lee, 31) has been additionally prosecuted for a special assault teacher.
On the morning of the 14th, a 7th trial was held at the General Military Court of the Ground Operations Command in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, regarding the suspicion of triumphant prostitution mediation, embezzlement, and violation of the Special Police Act.
Prior to the full-fledged witness newspaper, the fact of the additional prosecution of Seungri’s special assault teacher was revealed at the trial. According to the military prosecution, Seungri had a dispute with a customer who opened his room while drinking alcohol in the inner room with his acquaintances in a carriage in Gangnam, Seoul on December 30, 2015. As soon as they got stuck, they reported this to the group chat room that included Fury and Yoo In-seok.
Afterwards, Yoo In-seok called a member of a gang member he had known and called the victims to the back alleys of the pub, swearing, pulling his arm, or threatening to steal a cell phone.
The military prosecutor said, “The defendant, Lee Seung-hyun, conspired with Yoo In-seok to show off his power and threaten the victims.”
The defender of Seungri responded briefly, saying, “I deny the facts of the charges,” and “I will submit an opinion for details.”
Seungri was pointed out as a key figure in the Gangnam club’Burning Sun’ incident in February 2019, and was prosecuted without custody at the beginning of last year after 17 police investigations. There were a total of eight charges that were being triumphant, including violations of the Act on Special Cases concerning Prostitution Arrangement, Prostitution, and Punishment for Sexual Violence Crimes, Frequent gambling, Foreign Exchange Transaction Law, Food Sanitation Law, business embezzlement, and embezzlement of violations of the Act on severe punishment for specific economic crimes. An assault teacher charge was added, and the charges increased to nine.
Seungri is being tried in a military court while enlisting in the military on March 9, last year, before a full-scale trial. Seungri only admitted to the violation of the Foreign Exchange Transaction Act among the many charges, and has always denied the remaining charges.
In particular, in the newspapers of prostitution mediation and prostitution related witnesses held in the previous 3rd and 4th trials, there was a series of arguments from the witnesses that the mediation of prostitution for foreign businessmen was not with victory, but with the direction of In-Seok Yoo, and attention was focused.
Meanwhile, Yoo In-seok, former CEO of Yuri Holdings, who was tried on charges of’Burning Sun’ along with Seungri, was sentenced to three years of probation in August of one year in prison at a sentence of first trial held last month, but submitted a letter of appeal. Awaiting trial.
