On the 21st, the unification negotiations for the election of a single candidate for the opposition of Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon and Ahn Cheol-soo mayor of the People’s Party were finalized. The final candidate is decided on the 24th at the latest.

The two sides, including the People’s Power Chung Yang-seok and Lee Tae-gyu, Secretary General of the People’s Party, announced that they agreed to conduct a public opinion poll from the 22nd to the 23rd and announce the final candidates on the 24th through a meeting in the morning.

Kwon Taek-gi, former member of the People’s Power Negotiation Group, said, “We conduct a bilateral opinion poll on the 22nd and 23rd, and when the samples are filled and completed on the 22nd, we can announce it on the 23rd.” “By the morning of the 23rd, the announcement will be made on the 24th. I do it,” he said. However, regarding issues such as the inclusion of the party name, Lee Tae-gyu, secretary general of the People’s Party negotiating group, said, “I can’t tell you anything specific.”

With the final conclusion of the negotiations today, Nationalist Party candidate Oh Se-hoon and Ahn Chul-soo can avoid as much as the two candidates for their own election campaigns. From the 25th, the first day of the campaign, a unified candidate is expected to start the campaign.

Earlier, the two sides had a closed working-level negotiation the day before and agreed on a unified poll rule based on 100% wireless security number and a mixture of competitiveness and suitability.

‘Competitiveness’ and’suitability’ were reflected by 50% each, but two public opinion polls decided to survey 1600 samples each.

Secretary General Chung Yang-seok said, “As the negotiating team agreed on various procedures for the method of public opinion polling and unification, it would be nice if the two candidates meet as soon as possible today, and that it will be an opportunity to show the people their will for unification. I urge each party candidate to make a suggestion to meet even today.”
