When Justice Minister Park Beom-gye invoked the investigation and command authority on the alleged case of former Prime Minister Han Myung-suk on the 17th, Prosecutor General Cho Nam-gwan announced that he would accept it. However, it seems that high prosecutors are also participating in the discussion at the deputy presidency meeting ordered by Minister Park, so on the surface, it looks like acceptance of the authority to command the investigation, but some interpretations are prepared for a kind of counterattack.

Acting Cho said on the 18th, “In the process of dealing with the case, the Supreme Swordsman made efforts to ensure fairness according to the guidelines for rational decision-making and to clarify the actual truth. I will hold it.” He said that he would listen to explanations and opinions of the matter from the investigative and record review officials, including Supreme Prosecutors’ Office of Prosecutor Han Dong-soo and Prosecutor Lim Eun-jung, and that they would undergo sufficient discussion.

However, Acting Cho said, “There is a concern inside and outside the prosecution that it is not enough to ensure fairness with the meetings of the chief prosecutors working for the great prosecutors’ office. I will have front-line high swordsmen who represent my collective intelligence attend the great swordsman vice president’s meeting.”

Considering the fact that a large number of pro-government-minded persons were enlisted in the vice presidency of the great swordsman, there were some concerns that Park ordered to hold a meeting of the vice-president of the great sword. In the meeting of the Chief Swordsman, if opinions on the agenda are disagreeable, the result is high that “the Chief Swordsman also agrees with the will of Prosecutor Eun-jung Lim” as the conclusion is drawn with a majority of the attendance rights.

On the other hand, high prosecutors across the country held a national high prosecutors’ meeting presided over by Acting Cho on the 8th and released a statement expressing concern about the ruling party’s implementation of legislation at the Severe Crime Investigation Office.

Acting Cho also said, “We will actively accept and faithfully implement the orders for inspection by the Ministry of Justice and the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office on the alleged violations and unfair investigation procedures and practices in the investigation of the former Prime Minister’s case, even though the disciplinary prescription has passed.”

Previously, Minister Park led the investigation to determine whether or not the prosecution had been unfairly prosecuted by the former prime minister the day before, at the Great Sword Vice-President’s Meeting.
