[속보]Consensus was drawn up after consultations between courier labor and management…Withdrawal of strike when the union is confirmed

On the morning of the 28th, officials are moving goods at a parcel delivery center in downtown Seoul. The KCTU national courier union said, “Even after a social agreement with the courier company, the parcel delivery site did not change, so we went on strike.” /yunhap news

The courier labor and management came up with a provisional agreement on the 28th, one day before the strike. If union members pass, the strike is withdrawn.

The parcel delivery union said, “A provisional agreement was drawn up after 6 hours of discussion with the labor union, the courier, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport at the National Assembly, and the National Assembly, etc.,” said “The union held an emergency central executive committee. It was decided to hold a general assembly of members for the approval of the company.” The strike will be withdrawn when the agreement is resolved at the general meeting of members.

Earlier, the union announced a strike plan on the 29th, saying that it will not hire more than the 6,000 couriers previously promised (4,000 CJ Logistics, 1,000 Hanjin Express, 1,000 Lotte Global Logistics). It means that more classification personnel should be recruited. It is expected that about 5,450 members will participate in the strike, including private couriers such as CJ Logistics, Lotte Express, and Hanjin Express, and members of the post office headquarters. As of last year, this accounted for 10% of about 54,000 courier drivers nationwide. Of these, 2,650 members of the Post Office Headquarters decided to join the strike by refusing the delivery work if the sorting work was not done.

On the 27th, when the strike policy was unveiled, criticism was raised that the agreement was easily overturned because it was only six days after the social agreement. The Seoul Economic Daily confirmed to CJ Logistics, Hanjin Express, and Lotte Global Logistics about the claim of the courier union that’the couriers sent official letters and instructions to each agency stating that they would not hire additional sorting personnel. I never got off.” CJ, Hanjin, and Lotte announced that they had hired 3,500, 300, and 980 people, respectively.

The union did not disclose the contents of the provisional agreement. It is expected to be disclosed if agreed by the Central Executive Committee and the General Assembly of Members.
