Among the lawsuits filed by former President Chun Doo-hwan against the seizure of his home in Yeonhui-dong, he lost in a lawsuit for cancellation of an annex.

The Seoul Administrative Court’s 6th Administrative Division (Director Sung-Yong Lee) raised the hands of the prosecution in a lawsuit against the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office on the 22nd by the former president’s third daughter-in-law Lee Mo. At the time, the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office was Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol.

Lee filed a lawsuit in October 2018, claiming that it was unfair to seize the annex of Yeonhui-dong’s house in his name. Lee argued that the former president’s brother-in-law had no problem by handing over the ownership of the annex to himself after winning the bid at the auction, and it was unfair to collect it.

This case is one of the lawsuits filed by the former president’s family in opposition when Yeon Hee-dong’s home was handed over to public sale at the prosecution’s request in 2018. The court has already made a judgment on the foreclosure disposition once. Earlier, the Seoul High Court decided to cancel the seizure of the main house and garden of Yeonhui-dong home in November last year, accepting some objections to the execution of the trial filed by the former president in objection to the additional punishment. However, it was confirmed that the outbuildings under Mr. Lee’s name were purchased with slush funds, and the disposition that was handed over to short sale was maintained.

Apart from this lawsuit, former President Lee Soon-ja, the former president’s wife, filed a lawsuit against the Korea Asset Management Corporation to cancel the auction disposition, and the 13th administrative division of the Seoul Administrative Court (Director Judge Nak-won Jang) is being considered.
