In Korea, a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) mutant virus was first confirmed.

On the 28th, the Central Defense Countermeasures Headquarters (Bang Daebon) revealed that as a result of analyzing the full-length genome of Corona 19 specimens of three family members who entered the UK on the 22nd, the British mutant virus was confirmed in these specimens.

These three were positive in the corona19 diagnostic test conducted after entering the country as a family residing in London, UK, and are currently being quarantined.

Daebon Bang said, “We are strengthening quarantine in preparation for the influx of the Corona 19 mutant virus from the UK and South Africa,” and “we will explain the details through a briefing at 2 pm on this day.”

It is known that the mutant virus found in the UK has about 70% higher transmission power than the existing virus.

Separately, the quarantine authorities are investigating whether or not they are infected with the mutant virus as four family members who have entered the country from the UK have also been diagnosed with Corona 19.
