A new coronavirus infection in Korea (Corona 19) is showing signs of re-proliferation.

The Central Defense Response Headquarters announced that as of 0 o’clock on the day, the number of new corona19 confirmed cases in Korea was counted as 621. The cumulative number of confirmed cases is 8,4946. It is only 38 days since the 10th (623) of last month that the number of confirmed cases per day has soared to 600.

In the past week, the number of new confirmed cases has been recorded daily 504 → 403 → 362 → 326 → 344 → 457 → 621. The number of confirmed cases on this day increased by 164 from the previous day (457). Looking at the path of infection of new confirmed patients on this day, local outbreaks were 590 and overseas inflows were 31.

The number of deaths increased by four from the previous day. It has accumulated 1538 people. The average fatality rate in Korea is 1.81%. Currently, 8048 people are being treated. The number of new quarantine release personnel is 809, a cumulative total of 75,360.

There is also a growing concern about the re-proliferation of Corona 19 due to the recent group infection. The’third pandemic’, which started in earnest from mid-November last year, peaked on December 25 last year (1,240 people) and then gradually decreased, but it seems that it has recently turned to an increase. In particular, due to the decrease in the number of inspections during the Lunar New Year holidays, the number of confirmed patients a day remained in the 300 range for three consecutive days on the 13th to 15th.
The quarantine authorities analyzed that the effects of group infections at the same time occurred in various places such as workplaces, academies, and hospitals, including meetings of relatives and acquaintances. In the future, direct and indirect effects from the mass migration of the population during the Lunar New Year holidays may appear, and the quarantine authorities are making a sense of it.
