The number of new coronavirus infections (Corona 19) in Korea recorded 440 as of the 24th.

The Central Defense Response Headquarters announced that the number of new corona19 confirmed cases in Korea as of 0 o’clock on the day was 440, an increase of 83 from the previous day (357). There were 417 local outbreaks and 23 foreign inflows. The cumulative number of confirmed cases is 8,820.

The increase in the number of confirmed cases is due to the increase in the number of tests and sporadic group infections throughout the country.

According to the quarantine authorities, seven new confirmed cases were released in connection with the Gyeongnam-Gyeonggi New Year holiday meeting, and five additional infections were confirmed in relation to the Lunar New Year holiday family meeting in Muan County, Jeollanam-do, and the cumulative number of confirmed cases was 19. In the case of a family gathering-onsen in Uiseong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, 5 additional people were added, resulting in 67 confirmed cases.

The government plans to announce a distancing adjustment plan that will be applied next week as early as the 26th. The current distancing measures, such as the second phase of the metropolitan area and the 1.5th phase of the non-capital area, will end on the 28th.
