The controversy over school violence, which started in the volleyball world, is spreading like a wildfire as it extends beyond the sports world to the entertainment industry.

Earlier, it was revealed that the twin sisters of Lee Jae-young and Da-young Da-young of Heungkuk Life’s female professional volleyball were a harassment in school. As the controversy grew, the twin sisters posted a handwritten apology on Instagram on the 10th, and Heungkuk Life Insurance subsequently suspended the two players indefinitely. The Volleyball Association has indefinitely deprived the sisters Jae-young Lee and Da-young Lee from the national team.

The controversy over school violence also spread to men’s professional volleyball. OK Financial Group players Shim Gyeong-seop and Song Myung-geun revealed that they were victims of abuse. The two admitted to the abuse and apologized, and OK Financial Group decided not to let them out for the rest of the game this season.

On the 19th, Samsung Fire & Marine’s veteran center Park Sang-ha was exposed. At first, Park Sang-ha denied the fact of being abusive, but through the club on the 22nd, “I committed school violence. When I was in junior high school, I hit my friend, and when I was in high school, I hit my juniors at the dorm.” He said, “I sincerely apologize,” and said, “I will take responsibility for this and retire.”

The controversy over school violence also spread to the baseball world. On the 21st, suspicion of abusing two professional baseball pitchers was raised in the baseball-related internet community. The two clubs with the two pitchers said, “We are conducting self-investigation on the recently raised suspicion of abuse. The player accused of being the perpetrator denies the charges.” Prior to the two pitchers, suspicion of harassment against Hanwha Eagles players was also raised. The Hanwha team said, “As a result of finding out the facts of the recent affiliation of the players, we came to the conclusion that it is difficult to prove the facts.”

The revelation of the school has spread to the entertainment world. Starting with actor Cho Byeong-gyu, (female) children Su-jin, singer Kim So-hye, Seventeen Min-gyu, Jin Hae-seong, actors Park Hye-soo, and Kim Dong-hee, etc. Currently, they are denying the suspicion of abusing and are unveiling a policy to take legal action.

As school violence emerged as a social problem, police chief Kim Chang-ryong on the 22nd said, “If a school violence incident occurs, we will closely consult with the school to investigate thoroughly and promptly.” “In consultation with the Ministry of Education, we will prevent, lead, and counsel to prevent further school violence. I will do it.” Commissioner Kim explained, “We have already established measures for school violence this year, and we will soon enter the implementation stage.” “There is a high possibility that non-face-to-face classes will be held this year, so we have devised measures to prevent non-face-to-face violence.”

Earlier, President Moon ordered a special effort to eradicate the absurdity in the field of sports such as violence.

Germany indicts parents of perpetrators

In the case of Germany, a model country for the prevention of school abuse, the strikeout system is chosen. When the abuser occurs, the parent of the student who was committed is called to the school to consult with the homeroom teacher, and the second time with the principal. The parents of the perpetrator may also be prosecuted, and the victim may sue a school employee.

Germany is also running a precautionary measure that sends police to schools to educate children about school abuse. In addition, a professional counselor is placed at the school to teach students how to deal with feelings of anger so that they do not lead to violence.

The United States has a zero tolerance policy. In accordance with federal law enacted in 1994, possession of drugs and firearms is legally punished without exception.

Finland, known as an educationally advanced country, runs a state-led program called Kiva Kaulu (a school against bullying). The main class of this program is role-play, and the core is that the students participating in the role-play experience bullying indirectly and consider and discuss ways to help bullying students and how to eradicate them.

Japan, where’Ijime’ has become a serious social problem, focuses on punishing perpetrators. Japan enacted the Harassment Prevention Countermeasure Promotion Act after a student who was bullied in 2013 made an extreme choice, and criminally punished perpetrators over the age of 14.
