A puppy who was rescued from the mountain last September and came to an abandoned animal shelter. The cute and gentle dog liked people very much, but the person who wanted to become a family did not appear. The puppy left in the shelter for four months was put on the list of euthanasia on the 18th.

It weighs 15kg, and the breed cannot be specified. It was a puppy that had not even been inquired even though the shelter posted a letter for adoption several times. Then, an unexpected adoptee appeared. It was actor Jo Seung-woo.

700km round trip from Seoul to the organic animal shelter in Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam. Seung-woo Jo personally visited and adopted the dog No. 50 and helped other dogs move. Seung-woo Jo named the dog he will be with for his life as’Bombja’. Gomja walks with Seung-Woo Jo, runs around, and is getting along well with Seung-Woo Jo’s cats, Koboong-i and Gom-soon. And all of this was known through shelters.

The attitude of the companion shown by Seung-woo Cho

Seung-woo Jo is showing himself the attitude of a responsible companion. Maltis, who had been raised for 10 years, stayed with him until he crossed the Rainbow Bridge after struggling with disease, and kept his promise to be with him until he crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2005 when he met Sapsalgae Maori. When I was in the military in 2009, when I couldn’t take care of Maple, I entrusted it to the Korea Sapsalgae Foundation, who adopted it, and visited it every vacation period to take care of Maple. The first thing he did after he was discharged was to bring Maple back. It is famous for taking food to feed the street cats when shooting with rescue cats.

Jo Seung-woo said of the old dog at the time of the 2018 movie’Myeongdang’ interview.

“My puppy is a 13-year-old sapphire. This guy suddenly has a stomachache. I had an operation to remove the gallbladder, and as I was older, I was worried about complications and anesthesia. Fortunately, I was very happy to see me recovering well after the major surgery, becoming younger and eating well.”

Jo Seung-woo, who gave endless love to Momiji who became an old dog, struggled a lot when Momiji crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Nevertheless, I took courage and reached out to the poor life. Seung-Woo Cho’s life as a companion makes a lot of sense to those who buy pets as if they were buying things after seeing the images of young and pretty animals on social media, and disseminating them because they are old or expensive.

To be a responsible companion

Responsibility for life is paramount. In addition to the fixed costs such as feed, vaccinations, and snacks, you should also consider hospital expenses for your pet when it gets old and sick. In an instant, it costs several million won for surgery, and the time and effort to take care of it increases. It is also necessary to take a walk once a day. It is not advisable to have a pet if you travel frequently or if you are away from home for a long time.

Pets grow old like us. It is a life that gives unconditional love and is willing to grow old. Pets don’t want expensive homes or clothes. I just want you to be by your side until the end. If you decide to become a companion, I recommend going to an adoption center or shelter, not a pet shop, to do volunteer work.

In Korea, about 82,000 organic animals are created each year. I believe that Gandhi’s statement that “a nation’s greatness and moral progress can be guessed by the treatment of its animals” is correct. It is because it is a desperate need for all of the laws and institutions, civic consciousness and conscience.

I write a labor diary with the hope that any life, even if it is a weak and speechless animal, will become a society that can fully live the given life. The death of a pet is difficult even to express sadness, so it is often lonely. I hope not to say that all the sorrows in the world are unfortunate.

What does it mean to you to be with a pet? Please send photos and stories of your companions and stories of animals in need of help to [email protected]. I will write it sincerely.
