Nexon raises the starting salary to 50 million won
“Strengthening global competitiveness with excellent talent”

Nexon is reorganizing its wage system to the highest level in Korea in order to secure excellent talent and strengthen its global competitiveness.

Nexon announced on the 1st that starting this year, it will increase the initial salary of new employees to 50 million won for development and 45 million won for non-development workers. This is the highest level compared to not only the game industry but also large domestic companies.

According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the average annual salary of new white-collar workers at large companies with 500 or more employees was 3,347 million won last year.

Previously, the initial salary for Nexon was 42 million won for development and 38 million won for non-development workers. The starting salary increased by 8 million won at a time. Nexon decided to increase the annual salary of its employees by 8 million won this year.

Nexon explained that the dramatic increase in the company’s salary is to secure talented people in the present and future.

An official from Nexon said, “Even in difficult circumstances last year, incentive pay for employees who contributed to the company’s growth will be paid separately at a higher level than last year.”

Nexon CEO Jeongheon Lee said, “Since last year, we have been thinking a lot about what kind of competitiveness Nexon should have in order to leap forward as a global top-notch company. He said, “We decided to strengthen talent management through systematic salary increase rather than one-time encouragement.”

The highest level of incentive pay is paid to organizations and individuals with great results

Regardless of the position, year, or occupation, it announced that it will maximize motivation by paying the highest level of incentives to organizations and individuals that have achieved great results.

This is to provide an environment similar to a global company in which excellent talents can work with high sense of achievement.

Nexon decided to resume recruitment of new and experienced jobs, which had been suspended for the past two years, in the first half of this year to recruit excellent talent. In addition, investments such as new development projects, artificial intelligence (AI) research, and business development are expected.

Nexon is also launching the’Double You Donation Campaign’ this year to spread the donation culture. It is a campaign in which the company donates the same amount when employees or organizations donate.

Nexon said that it will expand investment in coding education platforms for elementary and middle school students, and more actively seek ways to contribute to the win-win society, such as supporting the construction of children’s hospitals.
