Conor McGregor (33, Ireland), who is famous for being the star of the mixed martial arts UFC and a bad boy, reverted to retirement and returned to the Octagon after a year, but lost his first TKO in his life.

McGregor lost the second round of TKO to Dustin Poirier (32, USA) in the lightweight game of the’UFC 257′ main event held at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE on the 24th (Korean time).

McGregor was defeated for the fifth time (22 wins). In the UFC, it is the third defeat after Nate Diaz (USA) and Habib Nurmagomedov (Russia). This is the first time McGregor’s KO or TKO defeat.

UFC representative Dana White was planning to overturn the retirement of lightweight champion Nurmagomedorf, who declared his retirement with a record of 29 wins, and then played a lightweight title fight with the winner of this confrontation. In the heart, McGregor wanted to be the opponent of Nurmagomedorf, but it was set in a hitch.

Poirier, who was defeated in the first round of TKO by McGregor at UFC 179 in September 2014, played a cool fight after 6 years and 4 months.

At the start of the first round, McGregor aggressively swung his fists and attacked Poirier. I hit the punch often on the face. Poirier took down McGregor as a takedown and led the fight to the ground. Off the ground, McGregor attacked Poirier with a shoulder attack and a knee kick in a clinch situation. In response to McGregor’s punch, Poirier took several leg kicks.

Even in the second round, McGregor pushed Poirier away with punches and kicks. However, the leg kick, which was often allowed from the first round, caught the ankle. The impact accumulated on the leg, gradually making the movement dull and the strength of the punch weakened. With this trend, the game for two minutes after the second round went to Poirier. MacGregor stumbled after being hit by Poirier’s strong punch. Poirier didn’t miss the gap between the opponent’s shaking and repeatedly punched and defeated McGregor, and then drew a referee stop with a pounding punch.

Earlier, after defeating Donald Seroni in January of last year, McGregor declared his third retirement in June of the same year, then overturned it and returned to the Octagon to play this game.
