It was confirmed that the SBS monday drama’Chosun Gumasa’, which is controversial for’history distortion’ using Chinese props and costumes, was introduced as the story of the founding of North Korea on a Chinese video site.

‘Chosun Gumasa’ is currently being serviced in many Asian OTTs, including China’s OTT’WeTV’. WeTV, a video streaming site based in Greater China, introduced’Chosun-gu Masa’ and introduced it as “a drama based on the historical fact that North Korea (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) was founded.” It also wrote that “the Vatican supported the founding of North Korea to replace the Buddhist state’Koryo’.”

As such facts became known and controversial, SBS requested an amendment on the 25th, and the description on the page related to North Korea and texts related to the Vatican are missing.

Joseon Gumasa is a fantasy fusion historical drama with the setting of bringing western Gumasa to Joseon through the Ming Dynasty of China to chase evil spirits.

However, in the first episode aired on the 22nd, Chungnyeong Daegun (played by Jang Dong-yoon), who will later become King Sejong, told foreign priests and interpreters at a gisaeng house near the Ming Dynasty border that traditional Chinese foods such as mooncakes and blood dan (simmered eggs or duck eggs), and Chinese dumplings There was a controversy with the scene of hospitality. Some pointed out that the costumes and swords used by the soldiers were Chinese style.

As viewers protested, there was a movement to withdraw ads among major advertisers. On the 24th, SBS made an apology and said, “We will completely stop broadcasting for 3-4 episodes scheduled for next week and delete the problem scene.” “We apologize for causing misunderstandings at the time,” he said. “I will delete all the problematic scenes in the play where Chungnyeongdaegun meets the Kuma priest and reflect them in replays and reruns.”

Nevertheless, voices urging the airing of’Chosun Gumasa’ to stop are still high. The’Historical Distortion Northeast Fair Drama’ uploaded on the 24th <**구마사>The Blue House national petition entitled’I request an immediate stoppage of airing’ received more than 164,000 people’s consent as of 16:00 on the 25th.
