World Health Organization (WHO) vaccine experts said on the 19th (local time), “It is important to remember that Corona 19 itself can cause platelet reduction and blood clots.” Urged.

The COVID-19 subcommittee of the WHO’s Vaccine Safety Advisory Committee (GACVS) made a statement on the day and said, “AZ vaccines continue to receive positive reviews in the risk/benefit analysis. It has tremendous potential to prevent infections and reduce deaths worldwide. We urge countries to continue using this important vaccine.”

The evaluation target of the advisory committee also included the AstraZeneca vaccine’Coby Shield’ produced by Serum Institute in India. The advisory committee, made up of 12 independent experts, explained that it had reviewed the safety data for the vaccine available in Europe, the UK, India and the WHO global database.

The subcommittee said the data did not suggest an overall increase in thrombotic diseases such as deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism after vaccination.

He added, “A very rare and specific thromboembolism with thrombocytopenia such as cerebral sinus thrombosis has been reported in Europe after vaccination with AstraZeneca, but it is not clear whether it is caused by vaccination.”

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) agrees with the plan to further investigate and monitor these phenomena.” WHO Secretary General Tewardros Adhanom Gobreersus told a video conference on the day that “Corona 19 itself “It’s important to remember that it can cause platelet loss and blood clots.” “We understand that people may have been concerned about the safety of the AstraZeneca vaccine,” he said. “The question of any drug or vaccine is whether the risk of accepting it is greater or less than the risk of the disease.” .

“There is no doubt in this case,” he said. “Corona 19 is a deadly disease and the AstraZeneca vaccine can prevent it.” He said he will meet with the Secretary-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) to discuss ways to increase vaccine production.
