NASA’s probe lands on the surface of Mars, marking the end of this year’s Mars exploration race. From 5:48 a.m. Korean time on the 19th, for about 7 minutes, NASA breaks through Mars’ atmosphere and places a’Perseverance’ rover on the surface of Mars. The speed of the Percidence decreases to about 420m per second 4 minutes after entering the Mars atmosphere and reaches 14 to 21km above the surface of Mars. At this point, unfold a 21.5m diameter parachute to slow down. Twenty seconds after the parachute unfolds, the heat shield covering the bottom of the rover falls off.

At this time, the perspective is exposed to the Mars atmosphere for the first time, and the main camera and radar are activated to quickly search the surrounding terrain, compare it with the preloaded landing target area map, and head to the safe landing point. ☞ Mars exploration rover personalization challenge ‘7 minutes of fear’ on the 18th of next monthhttp://dongascience.donga.com/news.php?idx=42881

Perseverance was tasked with the critical task of finding soil on Mars where traces of ancient life are likely to remain, collecting it and storing it in the sample storage’Cache’. If you find a sample and store it in a cache, the cache will be brought to Earth through a future’MSR‧Mars sample return’ project. ☞ Mars 2020 is leaving to pick up dirt with’patience’ and’persistence’ http://dongascience.donga.com/news.php?idx=38766
