The results of the National Human Rights Commission’s investigation into the late Mayor Park Won-soon’s alleged sexual harassment will be announced today (25th).

Unlike the police, who couldn’t come to a cool conclusion due to the death of Mayor Park, I am interested in whether or not to produce a clear result.

In July of last year, a suspicion of sexual harassment arose with the disappearance of former Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon.

However, after five months, the police concluded that the investigation was ended empty-handed with’no public prosecution’.

Police said the investigation was difficult as the forensics of mobile phones were not conducted as mayor Park was found dead.

Unlike the police, who could not come to such a conclusion, the court recently drew attention as the court commented on the purpose of acknowledging the facts of sexual harassment.

In another case where this victim was sexually assaulted, the judge in charge pointed out that the victim suffered considerable mental suffering from the sexual assault by Mayor Park.

Interest in the different interpretations of investigative and judicial institutions has now focused on what kind of investigation the NHRCK will present.

In July of last year, the Human Rights Commission unanimously conducted an ex officio investigation into the allegations of sexual harassment by Mayor Park.

Since then, it is known that the investigation has been completed and reports have been prepared until recently.

The results of the investigation of allegations of sexual harassment are discussed in the all-in-one committee, which is the highest voting body.

There are voices pointing out the limitations of the NHRCK, which initially did not have the right to compulsory investigation, and the scope of response was limited to recommending system improvement.
