The vaccination started a while ago?

[기자]

Yes, it is.

The vaccination started at 9 am in the clinical classroom on the first basement floor of this hospital.

I went to the vaccination room before the vaccination started.

The method of filling out a preliminary form and submitting it after identification is the same as for other vaccination procedures.

The Seoul National University Hospital said today that 50 people, including senior medical staff, are getting the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The first inoculation is Kim Yeon-soo, the head of Seoul National University Hospital, and today is also the first day, so the vaccination will be performed only in the morning.

From tomorrow, we plan to divide the vaccination into the morning and afternoon so that all members of the hospital, including doctors and nurses, medical staff, caregivers, and administrative staff, can receive the vaccination for ten days each day.

Earlier yesterday morning, 8,600 AstraZeneca vaccines were delivered to Seoul National University Hospital.

This is the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, and the inoculation schedule has been extended as the amount of stocking has been accelerated.

However, this vaccination is for medical personnel working in high-level hospitals, where many severely ill patients visit, so medical staff who treat COVID-19 patients at Seoul National University Hospital are not eligible for vaccination.

This is because they need to get the Pfizer vaccine secured through Cobax Facility, an international vaccine supply project.

However, the Pfizer vaccine, equivalent to 350 Corona 19 medical staff working at Seoul National University Hospital, has not yet been in stock.

In the midst of this, a case of death after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine was confirmed, right?

[기자]

Yes, it is.

The quarantine authorities said yesterday that there were two deaths after vaccination.

Both of the deceased were confirmed to have had underlying diseases as hospitalized patients in nursing homes.

The number of cases complaining of adverse reactions after vaccination continues to increase.

The cumulative adverse reactions counted so far are 209 cases, of which 3 were classified as’anaphylaxis’ cases in which respiratory distress and hives symptoms appear within 2 hours after vaccination.

Two of them are said to have improved and one is under medical care.

As the number of cases of vaccine-related deaths and adverse reactions increases, the quarantine authorities are closely watching the spread of anxiety about the vaccine.

At the same time, many countries around the world have reported deaths due to underlying diseases after vaccination, but there have been no confirmed cases of death due to vaccination, and asked not to avoid vaccination due to excessive anxiety.

In addition, he emphasized that the report will be more reliably investigated and the information will be transparently disclosed through expert review so that the public can trust it.
