At the Icheon Distribution Center, reclassification and packaging of AstraZeneca vaccines transferred from the factory are in progress.

The vaccine, which arrived yesterday, began being delivered to about 1,900 health centers and nursing hospitals nationwide from 5:50 am today.

The AstraZeneca vaccine started shipping around 5:50 this morning.

Yesterday (24th), 170,000 vaccines, which were packaged and reclassified by specialists, arrived at the Icheon distribution center in Gyeonggi-do, and are transferred to about 1,900 nursing hospitals and public health centers nationwide.

The vaccine, which started from the vaccine factory in Andong yesterday, arrived at the Icheon distribution center around 12:30 PM.

It was stored for over 17 hours in the low-temperature warehouse at the Icheon Logistics Facility before delivery again.

Yesterday, when the vaccine moved from the Andong factory to the Icheon distribution center, a 5-ton vibration-free refrigeration truck was used.

Today, 55 refrigerated trucks moving to national health centers and nursing hospitals are 1 ton.

These trucks are likewise cold-maintained vehicles.

AstraZeneca vaccine is more transported than Pfizer vaccine, which must be distributed at cryogenic temperatures.

Still, it is important to maintain the temperature during transport as the images must be stored at room temperature between 2 and 8 degrees.

In fact, when the vaccine was transferred to Mokpo Port to send to Jeju yesterday, the temperature of the container sometimes dropped to 1.5 degrees, so the vaccine was replaced.

The vaccine needs to be investigated, but the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention replaced the vaccine and transferred it back to Jeju Port.

As such, in order to prepare for accidents in the transportation of vaccines, the quarantine authorities have placed about 10 spare vehicles in major delivery sections by city and province.

Today, 163,000 vaccines produced at the Andong AstraZeneca plant are being transferred to the Icheon distribution center.

Over the next four days until the 28th, 780,000 vaccines will be transferred to facilities nationwide in the same manner.

So far, the Ministry of Social Affairs has delivered it.
