It is a strategy to increase immunity even for a short period of time by expanding the targets of the primary vaccination as much as possible.

Today, some additional AstraZeneca vaccines were introduced in Korea.

AstraZeneca vaccine arrived in Korea by air through the inclement weather in the spring rain.

That’s about 430,000 servings.

This is the quantity produced at the SK plant in Korea, and it was brought back to Korea through the KOVAC facility.

I got it ahead of what was supposed to come in the third week of this month.

7 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine individually contracted in May and June will be introduced sequentially in May and June, and 1.67 million doses of CoVax are also scheduled to be introduced within the second quarter.

The total amount of 9.1 million doses secured in this way is the amount that 7.7 million people eligible for AstraZeneca vaccination in the second quarter can be beaten at least once.

As a result of analyzing the effectiveness of vaccination over the past month, it was found that AstraZeneca had 94% preventive effect and Pfizer had 100% preventive effect with just one dose.

Accordingly, the government decided to increase the number of targets for primary vaccination as much as possible, considering the uncertainty of securing additional vaccines and the corona 19 epidemic.

However, it cannot be ruled out the possibility that an additional AstraZeneca vaccine will not be available when the second dose is given after 12 weeks.

Therefore, there is some opinion that as a follow-up measure, a second dose of another type of vaccine should be considered.

However, Pfizer’s vaccine has a short vaccination interval of 3 weeks, so we do not plan to use the second dose in advance.

Pfizer’s vaccine has secured 3.5 million people through individual contracts so far, and adding 150,000 CoVax supplies to this is insufficient for 3.8 million people to be vaccinated in the second quarter.

Vaccination is not speeding up.

Up to now, the number of people who have received the first vaccination of the vaccine is about 953,000, and the first vaccination rate is only 1.83% compared to the whole country.
