Suspicion that the police reduced or concealed the incident of drunk assault of a taxi driver by Deputy Attorney General Lee Yong-gu is spreading more and more.

In particular, it was confirmed that the police officer in charge pretended not to know even after seeing the black box video, which is the core evidence.

At the time of Vice Minister Lee Yong-gu’s’Taxi Driver Assault’, the official position of the police was “There is no black box video.”

However, a recent prosecutor’s investigation revealed that the video of catching the fate was stored on the phone of the taxi driver.

Even after checking the video, the police officer in charge was found to have closed the case without taking any action.

This was also known through media coverage, not the police.

Taxi driver A showed a video of a black box taken with a mobile phone in a media interview, but the police officer in charge said, “I will not see the video.”

After the media report, the police officer said, “It is correct to check the video” to the Seoul Police Agency asking about the facts.

The police held an emergency meeting and placed the officer in charge on standby.

In addition, a joint fact-finding team of 13 members belonging to the Department of Hearing and Investigations was formed and entered into the investigation, headed by the head of the investigation department at the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

A police official said, “We will immediately switch to investigation and take strict handling if any illegal matters such as a request for a case by analyzing mobile phones and the like are revealed.”

It is known that the time when the police officer became aware of the existence of the evidence video was on November 11, the day before the closing of the case.
