In the midst of the war to secure vaccines around the world, the authorities have announced that they will review all possible alternatives, including restrictions on exports of domestically produced COVID-19 vaccines.

More than 1 million people were vaccinated in Korea after 39 days of starting AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccination on February 26th.

At 0 o’clock, the cumulative number of primary vaccinations was 99,870, but at 12 o’clock, the number of vaccinations increased to 101,019, and the vaccination rate was 1.95% of the total population.

Although vaccination is in full swing, concerns about supply and demand are growing.

The authorities plan to inoculate 12 million people in the first half of the year, but the current supply and demand plan shows that there are insufficient vaccines for about 3 million people.

In addition, India, which is called the world’s vaccine factory, has banned the export of vaccines in its country due to the surge in confirmed cases, and the US and Europe have made similar stances.

Accordingly, the Korean government is also reviewing measures to increase domestic introduction or to restrict exports by expanding the plant for AstraZeneca, which is consigned in Korea.
