[사회]One-third of the mutant virus is asymptomatic… Concerned with a large proportion of 20s and 30s

It was found that one-third of domestic Corona 19 mutant virus infections were asymptomatic.

By age, the proportion of mutant virus infections in their twenties and thirties with high activity appears to be large, raising concerns about the spread of Corona 19.

It was on December 28 last year that the influx of a mutant virus from the UK was first confirmed in Korea.

This is the result of a total investigation of 162 confirmed domestic mutant viruses from immediately thereafter to the last day.

127 people, 78.4% were infected overseas, and the rest were infected domestically.

It was the most from the UK, followed by South African and Brazilian variations.

Of those infected with the mutant virus, five have reached severe gastrointestinal conditions and one has died.

However, 4 out of 10 people infected were asymptomatic.

The rate of showing only mild respiratory symptoms such as coughing without fever, a typical symptom of Corona 19, also exceeded 1/5.

By age, the proportion of infected people in their 30s was the largest, followed by those in their 20s.

The fact that the infection is mainly among young people who are asymptomatic or mild and active, means that the mutant virus can spread so quietly and quickly.

Experts stressed that stricter quarantine measures are the only way to respond to the mutant virus.
