First of all, the outbreak of collective infection in Eastern detention centers continues to spread. What is the current situation?

The cumulative number of confirmed cases related to outbreaks in the eastern detention center here increased to 923.

According to the results of the 4th full test confirmed yesterday, 126 additional people were confirmed to be confirmed, as well as 5 additional prisoners who were transferred to the Gangwon North Prison were confirmed to be infected.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Justice moved unconfirmed prisoners to the southern prisons in Seoul and the northern prisons in Gangwon, and now only 1,000 prisoners remain in the eastern detention center, which has a capacity of 2,000.

However, there are cases of infection again among prisoners who were tested negative and moved to other correctional facilities.

The quarantine authorities are closely monitoring the size of the outbreak from the eastern detention center, such as reviewing additional full tests.

A second confirmed prisoner death was also reported.

One of the two confirmed in a Seoul detention center in Uiwang, Gyeonggi-do, died.

It is reported that he suffered from high blood pressure, but after being confirmed on the 21st, he was receiving quarantine treatment in a detention center, and his condition worsened.

The Ministry of Justice explained that he tried to evacuate to an external medical facility, but died waiting in an ambulance after being notified that evacuation to a general hospital was difficult.

As a result, the number of Corona 19 deaths in correctional facilities increased to two.

A new outbreak has occurred in a nursing home in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.

After two nursing home officials were confirmed on the 29th of last month, 12 additional residents were tested positive.

As a result of the epidemiological investigation, it was found that the employees tried to prevent quarantine by wearing protective equipment such as masks and gowns.

In the elderly welfare facility in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, 32 people have been infected so far, including 20 users, after a worker was first confirmed on the 27th of last month.

At the nursing hospital in Guro-gu, Seoul, where the same group was quarantined due to the outbreak of confirmed cases, three more were confirmed, and the cumulative number of confirmed cases increased to 193.

Currently, the quarantine authorities explained that out of the 37 confirmed cases remaining in the hospital, 36 have been moved to another hospital, and that the remaining one will take immediate action.

In addition, we plan to support nursing staff to manage the remaining non-confirmed patients.

The problem is that they are having a hard time securing medical staff and caregivers.
