It has been confirmed that the police looking into the allegations of land speculation are investigating or investigating three incumbent lawmakers.

There are also 19 city and provincial lawmakers who were targeted for investigation.

Police summoned three LH employees to investigate, and conducted additional seizure searches for LH headquarters and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.

At the first official briefing, the head of the investigative director of the National Investigation Headquarters, who leads the real estate speculation investigation, said that active lawmakers are also conducting internal investigations.

Of the 14 lawmakers who have been suspicious so far, three have been identified with specific speculation.

Earlier, Democrat Seo Young-seok, a member of the Democratic Party, purchased the land in Gogang-dong, Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, near the 3rd new city in 2015.

Members of the same party, Kim Han-jeong and Kim Ju-young, were also accused of speculation by buying land in Jinjeop-eup, Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do and Namyang-eup, Hwaseong, respectively.

People’s Power Kang Ki-yoon, Lee Ju-hwan, and independent lawmaker Jeon Bong-min have also been accused of abuse of authority and violation of the Public Officials Ethics Act.

The noodle version revealed the possibility of expanding the investigation into other lawmakers who were suspicious of being unable to reveal the real names of the three.

He explained that it is currently investigating 398 people, including 85 public officials, including 19 mayoral and provincial council members and two former and current high-ranking public officials.

Along with the couple, the main suspect, Kang Mo, and three incumbent employees who bought land in Siheung, Gyeonggi-do, were present as suspects.

Further seizure and search of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and LH headquarters were also conducted.

This is to secure the personal information of employees who have worked since 2015 and to use the name of relatives in the investigation of borrowing transactions.

The police, who secured the employees’ cell phones, etc. through the previous seizure and search, are also conducting forensic analysis on more than 200 cases.
