Yes, at the National Investigation Headquarters behind me, a real estate speculation instructor investigation is underway.

As it is a matter of intensive public interest, this place is also busy throughout the day.

The police announced the status of the investigation yesterday, and said they are investigating 398 people in all 89 cases of real estate speculation so far.

Among them, it is known that 85 former and incumbent public officials were included, including three members of the National Assembly.

Of the 14 lawmakers who have been suspicious so far, three have been identified with specific speculation.

Earlier, Democrat Seo Young-seok, a member of the Democratic Party, purchased the land in Gogang-dong, Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, near the 3rd new city in 2015.

Members of the same party, Kim Han-jeong and Kim Ju-young, were also accused of speculation by buying land in Jinjeop-eup, Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do and Namyang-eup, Hwaseong, respectively.

People’s Power Kang Ki-yoon, Lee Ju-hwan, and independent lawmaker Jeon Bong-min have also been accused of abuse of authority and violation of the Public Officials Ethics Act.

The noodle version revealed the possibility of expanding the investigation into other lawmakers who were suspicious of being unable to reveal the real names of the three.

Pocheon city officials, who have applied for a warrant of arrest by the police, will appear at the court tomorrow as early as possible?

[기자]

Yes, it seems to be.

Previously, the police applied for an arrest warrant for Park Mo, a Pocheon city official who is suspected of speculation, for violating the Anti-Corruption Act.

The prosecution, who reviewed this, sent the case back to the police last night, asking them to revise the contents.

The Northern Gyeonggi Police Agency applied for a warrant again at around 2 pm, after completing the work, including sharing opinions with Mr. Park’s lawyer.

If the prosecution requests this back to the court, Mr. Park will appear in the court to be judged for imprisonment.

An official from the North Gyeonggi Police Agency, who investigated Park, said that as the matter is serious, the prosecution is likely to request a warrant quickly, and that Park will appear at the court tomorrow as soon as possible.

This is the first time that an arrest warrant has been filed in an all-round investigation into allegations of land speculation by public officials such as LH employees.

After the prosecution’s request, the court decides on the arrest, and the consequences are noted.

In the midst of this, the Uijeongbu District Court yesterday made a decision to preserve the confiscation of the land and buildings Park bought.

The decision came two days after the police filed for confiscation.

If this decision is made, the offender cannot arbitrarily dispose of illegally acquired property until a final judgment is reached.

In September of last year, Mr. Park bought land and buildings in Soheul-eup, Pocheon City, where the subway line 7 is scheduled to be built.

Park was in charge of the urban railroad extension project until just before he bought the land, and for this reason, suspicions have arisen that he used the information he learned while working.

In an announcement yesterday, the police said that 31 LH employees are also investigating.

Up to now, there are 15 former and current employees who have been subjected to specific charges, and 9 of them have been subpoenaed.

The police are planning to call the remaining suspects to investigate within this week.
