The government has decided to expand the scope of compensation paid to medical institutions that have suffered losses from the treatment of patients with Corona 19.

Amid the large number of confirmed cases, this is a measure to enable medical institutions to be more active in providing treatment beds.

Hospitals participating in the treatment of patients with COVID-19 are subject to considerable losses.

In preparation for the outbreak of confirmed cases, many pointed out that hospital beds must be left empty, and subsidiary businesses such as funeral homes cannot be operated, making them reluctant to participate in a hospital dedicated to Corona 19.

The government decided to expand compensation for losses in medical institutions accordingly.

We guarantee the bed price, which is the standard of compensation, above the average unit price, and part of the loss compensation is paid in advance to the hospital in charge of the base.

Compensation for losses during the recovery period after the exclusive hospital designation is canceled is also extended from the current 2 months to a maximum of 6 months.

This is a measure to enable hospitals to participate more actively in the provision of COVID-19 beds.

139.8 billion won was paid as compensation for losses this month to medical institutions.

The Central Accident Recovery Headquarters is in consultation with the fiscal authorities on early budget planning for rapid loss compensation next year.
