Deputy Prosecutor Jeong Jin-woong, Gwangju District Prosecutor’s Office, denied all charges at the first trial, accused of assaulting Prosecutor Han Dong-hoon on his own while investigating the intimidating reporting case of a Channel A reporter.

Despite physical contact, they claimed that it was just a coincidence during a legitimate seizure and search process.

Deputy Prosecutor Jeong Jin-woong comes out of the courthouse with a firm expression.

At the end of last year, it didn’t come out during the two trial preparation periods, but this time it was a formal trial where the defendant was obligated to attend.

Reporters poured out questions about the allegations, but Deputy Prosecutor Chung was spared.

He stressed that it was true that it was close to the body of a prosecutor, but it was only lost in the process of obtaining a cell phone.

In addition, he refuted that the allegation of “self-directed assault” was not established as he did not intend to abuse his authority.

Deputy Prosecutor Chung, who led the intimidating case of reporter Channel A as the first detective department head of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office last year, was charged with assaulting a prosecutor by abusing his authority.

A prosecutor’s office was confiscated and searched to secure a mobile phone sim, and even struggled, but the prosecutors saw that the crime of self-righteous assault was established and handed it over to trial.

Self-sufficiency assault is a charge applied when an investigative agency assaults a suspect or commits a harsh act by abusing its authority while performing its duties.

The sentence is heavier than simple assault, especially if you injure the other person, you will be punished with aggravated punishment, and you will be sentenced to more than one year in prison.

The court decided to hold the next trial on March 10 to witness and interrogate two witnesses during the seizure and search of a prosecutor.
