Police investigating allegations of land speculation confiscated and searched the residence of former Gyeonggi-do government officials who bought the Yongin semiconductor cluster site.

The arrest warrant for Pocheon city officials who are accused of buying a planned subway station using internal information was returned by the prosecution once and reapplied.

In 2018, Mr. A, a former Gyeonggi-do public official who spent hundreds of millions of dollars to buy the semiconductor cluster site in Yongin.

When buying the land, I worked as an executive at the Investment Promotion Division of Gyeonggi Province, and there were suspicions that the information I learned during work was used for speculation.

The South Gyeonggi Police Agency, which is investigating allegations of land speculation, confiscated and searched Mr. A’s house.

During the seizure search that took place for more than five hours, the police secured Mr. A’s mobile phone and laptop.

Through this, we are investigating whether Mr. A knew the plan to create a semiconductor cluster in advance and purchased the land.

The police also applied for an arrest warrant for Park Mo, a Pocheon city official who spent billions of won to buy the train station and the building.

Earlier, the prosecution sent back the arrest warrant, asking to supplement the contents of the requested warrant.

In response, the police said they had reapplied for a warrant, saying that they had supplemented the contents of the two facts in consultation with Mr. Park’s attorney.

The court is expected to call Mr. Park within this week as early as possible to judge whether or not to be arrested.
