After YTN’s continuous report on illegal drug manufacturing last month, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety conducted a special inspection and discovered the same problem in Chong Kun Dang.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has made the nine drugs in question stop manufacturing and selling them for the time being.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety discovered that Chong Kun Dang violated the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, including illegal manufacturing of pharmaceuticals.

It has been 45 days since YTN first reported allegations of illegal manufacturing by some pharmaceutical companies last month.

The same problem also occurred at a large pharmaceutical company with sales of 1.3 trillion won last year.

Four things were discovered this time.

Chong Kun Dang made medicines, added additives without permission, duplicated the manufacturing records, and discarded them.

In addition, even after changing the manufacturing method, the license was not approved, or the amount of use was arbitrarily adjusted.

All are violations of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety stopped manufacturing and selling the nine prescription drugs in question.

However, three items, including Depasu tablets used as a nerve stabilizer and Bejalip tablets, a treatment for hyperlipidemia, can be used up to the ones that are in circulation.

The remaining six were judged by experts such as doctors and requested to be switched to alternative medicines.

Chong Kun Dang said that it is investigating the internal cause and that it will prevent the same from happening again in the future.

Company A, who was caught together, did not conduct some drug performance tests, and is expected to be subject to administrative measures such as suspension of manufacturing sooner or later.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety explained that it plans to take Chong Kun Dang to accuse Chong Kun Dang for violating the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, and that it will continue to inspect other pharmaceutical companies throughout the year.
