Parents of lower grades and senior high school students who have been able to go to school every day are responding that the announcement of the Ministry of Education has eased.

However, the rest of the students pointed out that there is a need for a way to fundamentally improve the quality of classes, as they have to continue taking distance classes.

Reporter Park Ki-wan reports.

Last year, amid the Corona 19 crisis, the schedule for the exam was delayed.

However, I sighed at the government’s announcement that this year’s SAT schedule will remain unwavering.

Parents of younger elementary school students greatly welcomed the government policy that children can go to school every day.

Although there is no fear of infection, I hoped that the educational gap and social issues would be resolved.

[안영란 / 초등학교 1학년 자녀 학부모 : 1학년 때 못 받았던 것도 2학년 때 열심히 배우고, 또 친구들도 사귀고 학교에서 즐겁게 생활할 수 있을 것 같아서 만족합니다. 걱정은 되는데 마스크 잘 쓰고 여러 가지로 생활을 조심하면….]

However, there is still dissatisfaction between school and other grades who have to repeat distance classes.

The Ministry of Education has announced that it will strive to establish a foundation for remote classes, such as building a wireless network in the classroom, but it is said that the quality of classes will inevitably deteriorate, and the class should be expanded further.

[신승은 / 서울 목동 : 한꺼번에 원격 수업을 듣는다고 했을 때 반대했었거든요. 역시나 뚜껑 열어보니까 그다지 효과적이지 않았다는 생각이 듭니다. 온라인 수업에 대해서 2021년도 별로 기대될 게 없다고 생각합니다.]

[김용광 / 서울 목동 : 원격수업이 그렇다고 해서 대면 수업보다 더 좋아질 것이라고 보진 않습니다. 위험성이 있긴 해도 방역 수칙 잘 지켜서 등교수업을 더 하는 게 더 낫다고 생각합니다.]

Expectations and concerns are mixed about whether children who have been confused by the school schedule that changes with each pandemic will be able to study properly at school this year.
