[사회]Corona 19 vaccine preparation work in earnest… requesting cooperation from local governments tomorrow

Preparations are in full swing ahead of next month’s COVID-19 vaccination.

The government plans to urge local governments to thoroughly prepare vaccinations at a policy meeting with local governments to be held tomorrow (18th).

This year’s first policy meeting between the central government and local governments.

It will be a meeting to discuss the thorough preparations for the COVID-19 vaccination, which will begin next month.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which oversees vaccination, plans to request the formation of vaccination response teams for each local government.

Each local government promotion team will make a temporary vaccination plan by the end of this month based on the guidelines of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and prepare all matters such as personnel and locations.

The verification work on the domestic COVID-19 treatment has also begun.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety held an expert advisory group meeting as the first step to verify the safety and therapeutic effectiveness of Celltrion Rekirona, which requested conditional approval review.

An advisory group of 30 experts in infectious medicine will discuss whether the clinical trial results are appropriate to acknowledge the effectiveness of the treatment, and release the results on Monday.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety then seeks advice from the Central Pharmacy Review Committee and opens a final inspection committee to decide whether or not to approve the treatment.
