As of today’s 0 o’clock, there were 1,241 confirmed cases per day.

Yesterday, it fell to 900 people in one day, but it increased to 1,000 people.

It is a hundred more than the previous highest number of 1,000, 97 as of the 20th.

Among them, 1,216 people occurred locally and 25 people were imported from overseas.

By region, infection in the metropolitan area continues.

With 550 in Seoul, 257 in Gyeonggi and 55 in Incheon, accounting for 70% of the total confirmed cases, the rapid increase in Seoul is remarkable.

In particular, the number of outbreaks in Seoul increased by more than 200 people from yesterday’s daily confirmed cases.

This is the first time that more than 500 people have appeared in Seoul, and 288 additional people have been confirmed in the eastern detention center in Seoul alone.

In addition, outside the metropolitan area, Chungnam was the highest with 79 people, and there were all confirmed cases in 17 provinces nationwide, including 67 in Gyeongbuk and 42 in Chungbuk.

The number of deaths increased to 17 and the cumulative death toll rose to 773, and the number of seriously ill patients increased by 20 from yesterday to 311.

As of today’s 0 o’clock, the Ministry of Justice said that 286 prisoners and two additional employees were confirmed at the Eastern Detention Center in Seoul.

This is the result of a second thorough inspection of employees and detainees yesterday (23rd).

Yesterday, it exceeded 50% of all 550 confirmed cases in Seoul.

The confirmed cases added this time are estimated to be infections through close contact with the first confirmed cases. According to the official statistics of the quarantine authorities, the total number of confirmed cases in the Eastern Detention Center is 498, reaching 500.

Accordingly, 15 buildings of the Eastern Detention Center have been set up as a’cohort quarantine section’ that blocks the building itself.

To prevent further spread, the quarantine authorities and the Ministry of Justice have conducted special inspections on 50 correctional facilities nationwide, and announced that they will conduct rapid antigen testing on all new prisoners of detention centers in the future.

In addition, he explained that if at least one confirmed person occurs in the correctional facility, a full inspection will be conducted on the staff and prisoners of the facility.
